When it comes to body fat loss there is more to consider than calorie intake. During consultations we explore your diet, emotional and hormonal landscape, your physique, environment and related eating behaviours that stand in the way of your preferred body weight and shape. Forget weight loss supplements, meal plans and diet shakes. Instead promise yourself that you’re done with unrealistic quick fixes, magic bullets and short cuts. Stop depriving, start nourishing yourself, learn again how to eat and get to live the life you want.

Before your first consultation you’ll be asked to fill out an online intake form with your personal details and your medical history. This will be kept strictly confidential. Your physique, diet, emotional & hormonal landscape, medications/supplement use and your environment together determine your personal approach to body fat loss and weight maintenance. Because all these factors differ from person to person there is no “one size fits all” approach to body fat loss and it is important to get a full picture of influences that affect your body weight and shape. However, it is always completely up to you which factors you’d like to address or in what order.

During a private consultation we will, if found useful and always in agreement with you, analyze your body composition through bioelectrical impedance analyses (BIA), waist circumference, frame size and overall physique to determine in what way this may influence fat loss and to be able to determine your healthy weight.

A full diet analyses will show any shortfalls or excess in nutrients that influence the body’s ability to use body fat as fuel. This also gives me a good overview of the types of foods and drinks you are used to so that recommendations can be made that fit your life and therefor are sustainable without relapse.

Furthermore, we’ll discuss your emotional and hormonal landscape as this largely affects our ability to lose body fat. If found beneficial you’ll receive practical recommendations for diet and lifestyle adjustments tailored to you to balance your hormones.

Last but not least we explore habits and factors in your direct environment (eg emotional eating, sugar cravings, digestive health, overeating etc) that keeps you from losing weight and we’ll discuss practical solutions to tackle these issues.

What is next?

After your initial consultation and diet analyses you’ll receive a written summary with recommendations and I’ll follow up with you over the phone (free of charge). If you experience more issues, relapse, feel the need for more guidance or simply would like me to track your progress, you may wish to book in a follow up consultation. You can choose to book these follow up consultations on a casual basis or, if you wish more structured support, you can choose to follow the 12 weeks accountability & guidance program.

Changing your diet and lifestyle takes time and often comes with emotional hurdles. During the accountability & guidance program the underlying habits and environmental factors that are keeping you from reaching your weight loss goal are addressed in a step-by-step manner. We will do this by not solely focusing on body measurements, but by working on lasting behaviour changes to achieve long term positive well being outcomes. These will not only affect the number on your scales, but also how you feel in your day to day life.

During the accountability & guidance program we’ll meet fortnightly in person or through video consult for a follow up consultation (45 minutes, 6 times). This motivates to stick to your behaviour change and gives the opportunity to discuss unexpected barriers that you’ll need a strategy for to prevent relapse. In the weeks between our in person/video meetings we will schedule “check-in” consultations over the phone (circa 15 minutes) to keep you on track.

Private consultation fees (in person or via video chat):

  • Initial consultation (1 to 1½ hour), your investment: $160,-
  • Follow up consultation (45 minutes, casual), your investment: $75,-
  • Follow up accountability & guidance program (12 week program with a fortnightly in person/video chat follow up consultation of 45 minutes and a “check in” phone consultation of 15 minutes during the weeks in between), your investment: $399,-

The benefit of video consultations is that you can schedule consults from wherever you are, for example during your lunch breaks at work or in the evening from your home once your children are in bed.

During the pandemic Alert Level 2 it is still encouraged to book video consultations rather than in person consultations, but if you wish you can now visit the practice in person. Video consultations are offered permanently to suit your lifestyle and time schedule.
